Doloc Town Beginner Guide for Version 1.0

A spoiler-light Doloc Town beginner guide covering the first priorities, core systems, safe progression, and the guides to open when you get stuck.

DIRECT ANSWER

The short version

For a smooth first playthrough, follow the main tasks until farming, storage, crafting, and movement systems open; plant a small mixed crop rather than spending every seed; save unfamiliar machine parts and quest-looking materials; and explore when a route naturally becomes available. Doloc Town does not demand a perfect day-one plan, so build a stable food and storage loop before optimizing profit.

Your first hour: establish a safe loop

Treat the opening main tasks as a practical tutorial and unlock path. Learn how to plant, water, gather, craft, and store items before trying to clear the entire map. A small farm is easier to water and protect, while a labeled storage area prevents essential parts from disappearing into random boxes. Explore side paths when the story sends you toward them, then return home with new materials, recipes, and clues.

  • Plant several crop types, but keep spare seeds and do not spend all your money on one harvest.
  • Place storage close to the work area and group crops, food, ore, machine parts, and quest items separately.
  • Carry food before a longer exploration trip and return before your inventory becomes the limiting factor.
  • If a cliff, cave, landslide, or mechanism blocks you, check the main task line before assuming you missed a jump.
02

What to keep and what is safer to sell

Renewable crops, ordinary gathered materials, cooked food, and repeatable processed goods are the safest candidates for steady income. Keep unique specimens, keys, blueprints, unfamiliar batteries or chips, and materials named by an active task until you understand their use. One extra stack of a common resource usually costs less than re-finding a rare progression item. When money is tight, sell a portion of renewable output rather than emptying every box.

03

How progression and exploration fit together

Doloc Town links story progress to movement, crafting, and regional access. A blocked route may require a later ability, a repaired machine, a cleared obstruction, or a task trigger. Read the objective, inspect nearby landmarks, and review the in-game Encyclopedia before searching for an exact solution. This approach avoids following an old Early Access route that no longer matches version 1.0.

04

Weather, crops, and farm animals

The farming calendar uses rainy and dry conditions rather than the familiar four-season structure of many farm games. Grow a mixed set of crops until you know which ingredients your recipes and tasks require. Animals can interfere with exposed crops, so plan physical separation, fencing, elevation, or pathing instead of assuming every farm occupant will ignore planted areas. Later systems, including protected growing and automation, change the ideal layout; leave room to rebuild.

05

Old wires, batteries, and strange components

Early finds such as old wires, old batteries, rubber, copper, chips, and drone parts often become useful after a machine, recipe, or repair system unlocks. Community tips suggest that some damaged components can be restored later, while ordinary crafting materials can be produced once their recipe is known. Because exact recipes can change between builds, keep the item and use its in-game description as the first source of truth.

06

Five beginner mistakes to avoid

Do not judge every locked path as a puzzle, copy instructions without checking the game version, install functional mods before confirming a clean save works, sell every unfamiliar item, or expand the farm faster than you can water and organize it. None of these mistakes should ruin a playthrough, but avoiding them reduces backtracking and makes later systems easier to understand.

  • Back up saves before adding mods or tools that change progression.
  • Use official announcements for patch-specific issues and permanent redemption codes.
  • Prefer a focused location or puzzle guide over an unstructured video when you need one exact answer.
  • Keep exploring spoiler-light until the game clearly asks for a precise sequence or item.
07

Choose the guide that matches your question

Use the walkthrough for story order, the map hub for routes and landmarks, Crops or Fishing for repeated lookups, Mods for Workshop troubleshooting, Platforms for availability, and a dedicated puzzle page only when an objective has stopped your progress. Pages that still need a clean version 1.0 replay are labeled Research in progress and excluded from the sitemap, so a visible outline is never presented as a verified solution.

08

Version 1.0 boundary

The official Steam store shows the full release on August 5, 2026 in some regions; announcements and local store dates can appear as August 6 depending on timezone. This guide therefore refers to the August 5/6 full-release window. Version 1.0 added the Old City Ruins, farming automation, more resources and characters, and the main story conclusion. The latest official announcement reviewed here is patch 1.00.03.

Common questions

Can I permanently miss content by playing slowly?

An official developer reply describes Doloc Town as a no-rush experience with enough resources and no need to restart simply because you did not optimize the opening. Patch-specific exceptions can still exist, so keep normal save backups.

Should I restart if I made a weak farm layout?

Usually no. Build a workable small loop, then reorganize as storage, building, protected crops, and automation unlock. Leaving open space is more useful than trying to predict the final layout.

Where should I look when a route is blocked?

Check the active main task, nearby landmarks, and the Encyclopedia. If the obstruction is a landslide, high ledge, powered door, or repair target, it may depend on story progress or a later tool rather than a hidden jump.
