The short version
Building and storage behavior changes as tools and locator devices unlock. The version 1.0 guide is being tested machine by machine so adjacent-container rules are not confused with whole-room locator behavior.
Questions being tested
Moving and dismantling buildings, recovering placed items, opening early boxes, crafting from adjacent storage, locator range, room boundaries, animal sheds, and cellar expansion.
A safe early storage layout
Keep frequently used inputs close to their machines and separate crops, cooked food, ore, construction parts, animal items, and quest materials. Leave a clear walkway and expansion tiles around production. Before dismantling or moving anything expensive, empty attached storage, confirm whether placed items are returned, and preserve a save so an unclear recovery rule cannot erase hours of gathering.
Adjacent boxes and Box Locators
Do not assume every crafting station can automatically read every box on the farm. Early behavior may depend on adjacency, while locator devices can extend access within a tested range or boundary. The final diagrams will show the exact machine, box, room, and locator placement used in each test, because a result from one room should not be generalized to the entire vertical farm.
Moving, dismantling, and rebuilding
Test one inexpensive object before reorganizing the whole farm. Record whether the building moves intact, returns materials, drops stored contents, or requires a specific tool or mode. Animals and active processing can add exceptions, so stop production and move occupants first where the game allows. The page remains noindex until recovery behavior and current locator ranges are reproduced machine by machine.
